Company Profile Profile
Hengmao International is a Taiwan-headquartered green-energy integrator built on engineering execution, cross-sector collaboration, and German technology linkage.
The company focuses on waste-to-energy, green hydrogen, green steel and direct air capture, while drawing on more than three decades of civil and M&E engineering experience across Taiwan. That foundation is used to support Taiwan's 2050 net-zero direction and to position Taiwan as a technical hub serving the wider Asian market.
30+ years of civil and M&E execution across Taiwan
The company case is credible because it grows out of real delivery depth, not short-cycle concept packaging.
Industry, government, and academia are handled as one implementation route
Hengmao links technical research, owners, local governments, and engineering operators into one working frame.
Taiwan is the operating base, Asia is the next market field
The strategic direction already points from Taiwan into the Philippines and Indonesia through a Germany-linked hydrogen platform.
From difficult organic residue to power and green-hydrogen value chains.
Case 01 Industry-Academia-Government
From food waste, forestry residues and livestock manure to power and green hydrogen.
Taiwan generates roughly 4.5 to 5.2 million tonnes of agricultural waste per year, with around 80 percent coming from rice residues and livestock manure, while urban food-waste recovery exceeds 2,000 tonnes per day. Turning this organic burden into clean energy is one of Hengmao's longest-running working fronts.
Hengmao works with ITRI, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Environment to introduce German anaerobic digestion, biomass gasification, gas upgrading, and hydrogen-conversion equipment. The service route covers site assessment, equipment planning, customs and import handling, installation, commissioning, and operator training.
Each feedstock is matched with an appropriate pathway: high-moisture food waste, lignocellulosic forestry residues, and nitrogen-rich livestock slurry are not treated as one generic waste stream. Biogas can be upgraded to biomethane or reformed into green hydrogen, linking into ITRI's hydrogen verification platform in Shalun and extending the chain from waste to electricity and then to hydrogen.
Organic burdens are reframed as energy resources
The point is not disposal alone, but value recovery through electricity, gas, and hydrogen.
Planning, import, commissioning, and operator training stay connected
The implementation route reduces friction in cross-border technology introduction.
Biogas can be upgraded or converted into hydrogen applications
That makes the route part of a larger net-zero infrastructure story.
Case 02 Green Steel + DAC
Green steel and direct air capture bring heavy-industry decarbonization into practical engineering territory.
Steelmaking contributes roughly 7 to 9 percent of global emissions and remains one of the hardest sectors to decarbonize. The H2-DRI plus electric-arc-furnace route now reshaping Europe can reduce emissions by roughly 50 to 80 percent versus the blast-furnace path, and Taiwan's China Steel has already started its hydrogen-steel program.
Hengmao positions itself as a green-steel technology integrator that can help Taiwanese mills import German H2-DRI process design, run low-carbon process diagnostics, verify recycled-material content, and structure green-hydrogen supply planning. The value is not a single device purchase, but a systems view across process, feedstock, heat, and carbon.
On direct air capture, Germany's climate-neutrality path calls for large-scale carbon removal by 2045, and its industrial decarbonization programs have already put major funding behind deployment. Hengmao works with German partners on low-temperature liquid-sorbent and solid-sorbent DAC, combining those routes with biomass and waste-heat recovery to improve economics for semiconductor, petrochemical, and steel clients facing hard-to-abate residual emissions.
Hydrogen, captured carbon, and plant retrofits need one engineering view.
German process design supports Taiwan steel decarbonization
The route spans process design, diagnostics, recycled-content verification, and hydrogen supply planning.
Liquid and solid sorbent routes are linked to biomass and waste heat
That makes carbon removal a plant-level integration problem rather than an isolated machine issue.
Hard-to-abate sectors need a negative-carbon compensation route
That is where DAC and carbon capture are framed as practical complements to decarbonization.
Long-cycle engineering depth turns a public narrative into an executable platform.
Case 03 30+ Years of Delivery
Thirty-plus years of civil and mechanical-electrical engineering give the green-energy story industrial weight.
Hengmao's team has worked across Taiwan in civil and M&E engineering for more than three decades and has also been involved with semiconductor fabs and photovoltaic module plants, where vibration control, clean piping, cleanroom conditions, and uninterrupted power are non-negotiable. That background is what allows the company to discuss green transformation without sounding abstract.
That same base supports work with major Taiwanese groups including Taisugar, Formosa Plastics Group, Yieh United Steel, and AU Optronics. The route includes rooftop solar, biogas power, waste-heat recovery, CCUS pilots, and circular-economy site planning. The Taisugar Dong Hai Feng Agricultural Circulation Park in Pingtung is one of the benchmark references that helps shape Hengmao's integrated solution thinking.
North, central, south, east, and high-specification industrial sites
The engineering story is Taiwan-wide rather than isolated to a single local market.
Taisugar, Formosa Plastics, YUSCO, and AUO inform the transformation route
The route is framed around cooperation direction rather than confidential active-project disclosure.
Reference parks and circular sites shape solution design
The point is to turn exemplary projects into reusable planning logic.
Disclosure Boundary Boundary
Public capability is shown clearly, but ongoing project details remain confidential.
Because of owner, investor, and market confidentiality requirements, the Taiwan-facing website does not publish active project names, build status, or commercial terms for work already underway.
What is made public instead is the strategic logic: the technical routes, the cooperation structure, the engineering depth, and the next markets that define the platform.
Case 04 Local Governments
Energy-creation solutions for counties, cities, and offshore islands.
Hengmao acts as a long-term partner for local governments pursuing net-zero city agendas. The work spans food-waste digestion, agricultural-residue gasification, centralized manure biogas treatment, renewable-power retrofit, and microgrid planning where energy security and residue handling need to be solved together.
Miaoli and Taichung point to food-waste digestion and power-generation planning; Changhua and Yunlin point to circular agriculture, swine biogas, and PV-linked livestock parks; Pingtung extends its pig-farm biogas policy into downstream hydrogen conversion; Taitung works with renewable-power retrofit; and Kinmen is planned as a Taiwan green-hydrogen demonstration island through full-island waste and distillery-residue conversion into electricity and green hydrogen, woody biomass power generation, and seawater desalination for green-hydrogen production.
Local residue structure and local energy security need local answers.
Miaoli and Taichung focus on digestion and power generation
Taichung already provides a useful operating reference for Taiwan's food-waste bioenergy route.
Changhua, Yunlin, and Pingtung connect farming residue with energy output
The route combines manure gas, agricultural residues, solar PV, and in some cases downstream hydrogen.
Kinmen is planned as a Taiwan green-hydrogen demonstration island.
The island route combines full-island waste and distillery-residue conversion into electricity and green hydrogen, woody biomass power generation, and seawater desalination for green-hydrogen production.
Taiwan becomes the Asian hinge for German hydrogen know-how.
Case 05 JFT Alliance
Partnership with Germany's JFT points from Taiwan into the Philippines and Indonesia.
Germany remains one of the global pace-setters in green hydrogen, with major electrolyser-capacity targets, large projected demand, and policy tools such as H2Global and hydrogen-grid planning. Taiwan's National Development Council likewise sees hydrogen taking a meaningful share of the 2050 power mix.
Hengmao's strategic alliance with JFT covers electrolysis, hydrogen storage, safety, and system integration. Through that route, German hydrogen production and storage know-how is transferred into Taiwan, where it can be structured as an operational platform for research, engineering, sales, and deployment.
The next phase is geographic as much as technical: using Taiwan as the Asian headquarters, Hengmao aims to carry the same integrated route into the Philippines and Indonesia, helping Southeast Asian clients move past technology barriers in the energy transition.
JFT provides the engineering and technology-platform anchor
The public case makes the foreign-technology route concrete rather than symbolic.
Research, engineering, sales, and deployment are kept in one operating base
Taiwan is framed as the practical hinge between German know-how and Asian execution.
Philippines and Indonesia are the first outward replication fields
The Asia story is made specific by naming where the route goes next.
